Guided Kayak trip to a destination that will amaze. We kid you not.

3 hr
75 Bahamian dollars
Seymour's Mangrove Dock (North Long Island)

Service Description

Former school principal (and a significant reason why The Real Bahamas was invented), Rodney Gibson can take you, and your family or friends, on the most amazing kayak trip in the north through winding mangrove channels to an amazing end location. This is not a short trip and the paddle back can be a great workout but THIS IS WORTH IT... view turtles, rays, fish, birdlife and more as you meander at your own pace to open out onto an incredible sight. Allow 3 hours... and then allow an extra 4 hours as you inevitably end up whiling away time with a beverage and/or dining with Rodney at his Sunset Restaurant for fresh conch salads, fish and more while listening to the legendary stories of the island and, not to mention, all the stories of being a principal on an out island in The Bahamas. WHAT TO BRING: Sunscreen, Hat, water, picnic food if you wish. INCLUDED: Life jackets, kayaks and paddles and the most incredible kayaking guide there is :) DURATION: Allow 3 hours but it is such a beautiful trip that you can easily allow a LOT more. STARTING LOCATION: Rodney will meet you with the kayaks at the launch pad just north of the Columbus Monument turn off in Seymours which is virtually at the end of the road as you drive north on Queen's Highway. STARTING TIME: When you wish! Ideally a starting time of 9 am would allow for the perfect return at lunch time..... MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS: 4 ABOUT THE OPERATOR: Rodney Gibson is a life long Long Islander with a passion for teaching and sharing that explains his former life as the Principal of Simms School. With the temperament of dealing with all the now famous graduates, Rodney shares his patience and passion for the gifts that Long Island provides through his restaurant and tours. Kayaks are available also for rent by the hour without the guided tour.
