  •  ALL RESERVATION BOOKINGS ARE REQUEST ONLY UNTIL CONFIRMED BY OPERATOR.

This tour includes up to 2 people with all taxes and fees included. Up to 4 additional passengers may be taken for an extra fee (see side) - although some discretion may be possible for families and special group needs. Given that this is a boating activity, each tour is contingent on weather and conditions and daily tides. A written confirmation with departure times and date will be individually organized with your group prior to payment. At Captain's discretion, a bonus to the adventure may well be an optional reef or boat wreck snorkel.

THE PERSONAL COMMITMENT

Priding themselves on the individual experience, every reservation through West End Ecology Tours is personally contacted by the founder, Keith Cooper. Ensuring each group is familiar with the program and addressing any individual questions that anyone might have is only part of the reason that West End Ecology Tours has the stellar industry reputation in both tourism and conservation.

THE STINGRAYS

Encountering stingrays can be a daunting challenge for many visitors unaccustomed to meeting wildlife up close and personal. Fear of the unknown is evident on the minds and faces of those who are contemplating whether or not to take the challenge and meet the rays - one on one. An experienced guide will brief visitors about the foraging habits and individual personalities of the rays. Of course there are rules to follow before one is allowed to engage personal contact with these misunderstood animals. Everyone's comfort and safety is foremost on the tour.

An important aspect of the company is to maintain the natural behavior of the stingrays. The animals are not abused or exploited. Human interaction is limited and supervised with the utmost care. The stingrays roam a wide area of the sea for sustenance and return to the cay as the tide cycle is rising to continue their search for food.
Visitors willing to step into the natural element of the stingrays are in for a pleasant "close encounter" with these soft, elegant, angels of the sea.  This is a perfect "off the beaten path" nature excursion for families, couples and close friends. Children 8 years and up are welcome to participate in the encounter.

ABOUT THE OPERATOR
West End Ecology Tours was formed out of a deep passion by the founders of the company to highlight conservation best practices for the community.
Founder Keith G. Cooper offers a commitment to promote environmental programs to educate youth and adults in a community that, like so many, is going through a lengthy transition period from the destructive tropical storms seen in the last few years. Commited to sustainable development and growth of this small community, the charitable arm of West End Ecology Tours - WEEFCA, which is supported through donations from companies - provides funding for educational youth environment programs including spring and summer eco-fishing camps, eco-tour guide training and annual junior sailing regatta. A marine ecology center is also being planned to provide a research center for professionals in the field and a training facility for youth who seek careers in marine environment and ecology.
